Job summary

Resend is building its core engineering team to support millions of emails sent daily. The role is fully remote across the Americas or European time zones, with occasional travel for team offsites, conferences, and meetups.

You will own features end to end, from scoping to APIs, dashboard experiences, and the services behind them. Build reliable distributed systems, queues, and background workers that handle spikes, retries, and failures.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience building and operating backend services in production.
• Experience with queues, asynchronous processing, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, APIs, relational data models, and infrastructure as code.
• Clear written and spoken English; able to overlap with Americas hours.

Responsibilities

Resend is building its core engineering team to support millions of emails sent every day. The role is fully remote in the Americas or European time zones, with occasional travel for team offsites, conferences, and meetups.

In this role, you will Own features end to end, from scoping to APIs, dashboard experiences, and the services behind them. Build reliable distributed systems, queues, and background workers that handle spikes, retries, and failures. Scale APIs and databases, improving performance, data integrity, and efficiency. Operate services with monitoring, safe deployments, and participation in the on-call rotation. Work with support and customers to turn recurring problems into product improvements. Strengthen tests, tooling, and existing systems while building new capabilities.

You will be a great fit if you Have 8+ years of software engineering experience building and operating backend services in production. Have experience with queues, asynchronous processing, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, APIs, relational data models, and infrastructure as code. Can design systems from scratch, debug production issues, and communicate tradeoffs clearly. Communicate clearly in written and spoken English and can overlap with Americas working hours.

It is a plus if you have Deep experience with Node.js, Type Script, Go, and Postgres; AWS; developer tools, public APIs, or email infrastructure.

Compensation: $140,000–$180,000 USD, commensurate with experience.
