Job Purpose and Role

We are seeking an AWS Cloud Security Engineer to be the primary security architect and implementer for our cloud infrastructure. This role involves maintaining security controls, designing secure architectures, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud security, AWS services, and infrastructure management.

Responsibilities

1. Design, implement, and manage security controls for AWS cloud environments.
2. Monitor security systems and respond to incidents promptly.
3. Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans.
4. Develop and enforce security policies and procedures.
5. Collaborate with development teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines.
6. Stay updated on the latest security threats and AWS security features.
7. Provide security training and awareness to staff.
8. Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and security, with at least 2 years focused on AWS.
3. Proficiency with AWS security services and best practices.
4. Experience with scripting (e.g., Bash, Python) and automation.
5. Strong understanding of network security, IAM, VPC, and encryption.
6. Relevant certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, CISSP, or CISA are preferred.
7. Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

Hours: During US business hours (9am-5pm EST)
