As the AI/ML Engineer, you’ll lead the development of our core machine learning systems.

You’ll fine-tune large language models (LLMs), build NLP pipelines, automate insurance workflows, and implement user feedback loops for continual model improvement.

This role is ideal for someone who’s comfortable with ambiguity, enjoys building innovative solutions, and wants to work on meaningful problems within a small, dynamic team.

You’ll collaborate closely with the founders (CEO & CTO) to shape the company's technical strategy.

Responsibilities:

1. Natural Language Processing & Understanding: Build and fine-tune NLP systems to extract structured data and insights from complex insurance documents.
2. Lead the development and fine-tuning of domain-specific large language models.
3. Design training workflows that leverage user feedback to enhance model performance.
4. Apply computer vision techniques to extract data from PDFs, scanned documents, and unstructured formats.
5. Develop intelligent agents that interact with web interfaces using tools like Playwright or Selenium, with a strong grasp of DOM structures.
6. Create evaluation pipelines and performance metrics for all models.
7. Architect scalable systems to support training, inference, and feedback processes.
8. Build core systems from scratch, embracing the challenge of creating new solutions without predefined blueprints.
9. Work directly with the founding team and early users to influence product development and implementation strategies.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Python development experience.
• 3+ years as an AI/ML Developer.
• Experience with JavaScript, Node.js, and React.
• Proficiency with MongoDB and AWS.
• Ability to maintain clarity and momentum amidst uncertainty.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate problems, solutions, and tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
