Primary Roles

VideoVerse is looking for a Product Engineer 1 to join the Magnifi Team. The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of Javascript, Typescript, React, Nodejs, Expressjs, or equivalent web frameworks, as well as experience building single-page web applications with a strong interest in learning new technologies. The candidate should be able to support as an SRE ONCALL engineer from 11 AM EST to 10 PM EST.

Responsibilities:

• Able to debug and triage frontend/backend/infra issues on production/pre-pod environments using tools such as Sentry, Datadog, AWS Cloud Watch, etc.
• Able to immediately respond to production incidents and make shift decisions for both short and long-term fixes.
• Able to collate and prepare a roadmap on identified long-term fixes and continuously ship items from the roadmap.
• Support as an SRE ONCALL engineer from 11 AM EST to 10 PM EST.
• Ability to code new features with best practices and team-defined conventions. Identify and effectively debug problems from first principles.
• Identify and question missed use cases and edge cases in the requirements. Deliver consistently good quality work.
• Understand the customer mindset during the implementation of the feature.
• Take ownership, not only for the deliverables but also for the business results.
• Keep stakeholders informed of all critical decisions.
• Collaborate with team stakeholders in India during suitable overlapping hours for Sprint planning and stakeholder management.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• 2-4 years of experience building web apps on the MERN stack.
• Proficiency in any mainstream programming language and interest in using Javascript, Typescript, Python, ReactJS, Nodejs.
• Good understanding of client-server architecture; experience with WebSockets is a plus.
• Experience in building RESTful APIs and exposure to relational or NoSQL databases.
• Thorough understanding of the HTTP protocol and its nuances.
• Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment is a must. Open-source contribution is a plus.
• A keen intuition for well-designed software and beautiful, usable interfaces.
• Intrinsic motivation and the drive to solve difficult problems.
• Strong learning mindset is a must.
