Jobgether is seeking a Senior AI Engineer (Backend Java) to design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications using Spring Boot in Brazil. The role focuses on integrating Generative AI and LLMs into backend systems, while collaborating in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software.

You will work across the SDLC, implement AI-driven tooling, and ensure robust testing with modern DevOps practices using Docker and Kubernetes.

Qualificações

• Strong backend development with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and scalable backend apps.
• Familiarity with Generative AI, LLMs, and their integration into apps.
• Understanding of SDLC, microservices, and design patterns.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and data workflows.
• Familiarity with Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience writing automated tests (unit/integration).
• Knowledge of code reviews, Clean Code, and quality standards.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and DevOps practices.

Join a technology team focused on building high-performance backend systems and integrating Generative AI into modern software development. In this senior role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications using Spring Boot while connecting backend services with Large Language Models (LLMs). You’ll contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and architecture to testing, deployment, and continuous improvement. Using AI-powered development tools and automation, you’ll help optimize engineering workflows, accelerate delivery, and improve software quality. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to solve complex technical challenges and deliver reliable, business-focused solutions. This opportunity combines backend engineering expertise, AI integration, and modern DevOps practices to drive innovation and operational efficiency.

Accountabilities

• Backend Development and AI Integration: Design, build, and maintain resilient backend systems and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot, integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI capabilities into existing solutions.
• Software Development Lifecycle: Participate in all stages of the SDLC, including planning, requirements analysis, architectural design, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• AI-Driven Workflow Optimization: Implement and improve AI-powered coding tools, automation processes, and algorithms to streamline software development activities, including code generation, automated testing, and technical documentation.
• Requirements Analysis and Collaboration: Participate in requirements refinement sessions, translate business needs into effective technical solutions, and collaborate with Agile teams on planning, estimations, and delivery.
• Architecture, Messaging, and Data: Apply microservices architecture and design patterns while developing efficient data flows using SQL and NoSQL databases and messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Code Quality and Testing: Ensure software reliability through automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using tools such as JUnit and Mockito. Participate in code reviews and apply Clean Code principles and established engineering standards.
• DevOps and Continuous Delivery: Work with containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes, supporting CI/CD practices and reliable integration and deployment of software changes.
• Troubleshooting and Observability: Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues involving application code, data, and production environments.
• Documentation and Continuous Improvement: Maintain clear technical documentation, share knowledge with team members, and stay current with emerging technologies and software engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience in backend software development using Java and the Spring Boot framework.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and scalable backend applications.
• Knowledge of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and their integration into software applications or development workflows.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle, software architecture, microservices, and common design patterns.
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases and building efficient data-processing workflows.
• Familiarity with messaging and event-driven technologies such as Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience writing automated tests, including unit and integration tests, using tools such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Knowledge of code review practices, Clean Code principles, and software quality standards.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate and resolve complex technical issues.
• Ability to translate business requirements into reliable, maintainable technical solutions.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in an Agile team.
