Qualificações

• 4+ years of experience in accounting, preferably with big four firms.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards.

What you will do

The Legal Entity Accountant is responsible for:

Key Responsibilities

1. Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of both the US and Local GAAP & Tax reporting. This includes but is not limited to recording the statutory ledgers and maintaining accuracy of parallel ledgers (if applicable), focusing on ensuring the correct tax accounting and coordination with internal and external audit teams.
2. Responsible for the complete and accurate accounting for all the General process flows for the Balance Sheet and Income Statement.
3. Timely closing & execution of financial periods as per closing calendar and in accordance with Compliance, Internal Audit & SOX requirements.
4. Accountable for completeness, accuracy and validity of the actuals reported within process/entity scope.
5. Regular focus on Balance Sheet reconciliations to minimize open items.
6. Influence and execute process improvements, generating ideas and implementing them in line with global standards.
7. Take the statement of cash flows under IFRS for the legal entities under its responsibility.
8. Make the reconciliation between local and corporate figures.
9. Perform supervision tasks to analysts that include performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, etc.
10. Ensure accuracy and adherence to Corporate policies and IFRS.

Compliance

1. Support auditors and legal authorities with the execution of required activities.
2. Understand, adhere to, and execute worldwide policies and procedures. Identify compliance risks and recommend solutions to remediate/prevent breach.
3. Ensure strong internal controls are in place, to achieve “adequate” internal and external audit ratings.

Leadership and People Management

1. Recruiting, onboarding, and training of new joiners.
2. On-the-job training for new team members / BPO partners.

Qualifications - External

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

1. At least 4 years of professional experience working in big four (PWC, EY, KPMG, Deloitte) or have under their responsibility the attention of the external audit.
2. Strong analytical skills.
3. Knowledge of general accounting processes.
4. Solid IFRS or US GAAP accounting knowledge.
5. Advanced Microsoft Excel, interpersonal skills, understanding of accounting principles and practices, compliance knowledge (SOX and internal controls).

Desired Qualifications

1. At least 1 year of management/supervisory experience.
2. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with employees at all levels.
3. Be open to new ideas, rapid change and embracing new technologies.
4. Experience in a Shared Service Centre of a multinational corporation or BPO.
5. Successfully manage multiple priorities, be very organized and work efficiently to tight deadlines.
6. Knowledge of local regulations in countries other than Colombia.
