Job summary

Cellmec W.L.L. seeks a seasoned wastewater and water infrastructure expert to lead projects in Bahrain.

You will oversee feasibility studies, groundwater assessments, and the design of treatment trains from coagulation to advanced methods, ensuring compliance and sustainability. Responsibilities include optimizing plant performance, SCADA-based troubleshooting, SOP development, and alignment with energy and chemical usage targets.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of experience managing industrial wastewater treatment.
• Experience with water infrastructure, feasibility studies, or groundwater assessments.
• Hydrological modeling, GIS, and data analysis software.
• Sludge handling and dewatering.
• Water and wastewater treatment processes, including coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, chlorination, disinfection, RO, UF, MF, activated carbon, and advanced treatment.
• Activated sludge, biological treatment, aeration optimization, nitrification, denitrification, nutrient removal, and sludge treatment.
• MBR, SBR, MBBR, and UASB/anaerobic treatment.
• Treatment-plant operation and optimization.
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of pumps, blowers, valves, and piping systems.
• SCADA and process instrumentation.
• Energy and chemical consumption optimization, plant performance monitoring, emergency response, contingency planning, and SOP development.
• Physical fitness to work in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage industrial wastewater treatment and water infrastructure projects, including feasibility studies and groundwater assessments.
• Apply water resource management principles and practices.
• Conduct raw water assessment and treatment-process selection.
• Optimize coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, chlorination, disinfection, membrane processes, activated carbon, and advanced treatment.
• Manage activated sludge and biological treatment, aeration systems, nitrification, denitrification, nutrient removal, and sludge treatment and disposal or reuse.
• Work with MBR, SBR, MBBR, UASB, and anaerobic treatment systems.
• Operate and optimize treatment plants, including preventive and corrective maintenance of pumps, blowers, valves, and piping systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment using SCADA and process instrumentation.
• Optimize energy and chemical consumption, monitor plant performance, and support emergency response and contingency planning.
• Develop and implement operational SOPs.
