Job summary

Beyon Cyber seeks a senior software engineer with 6+ years of experience and strong leadership to own critical distributed subsystems serving large telemetry volumes. You will design, implement, and operate high-availability services in Kubernetes, mentor junior engineers, and drive architectural decisions with a focus on reliability and performance.

The role demands deep knowledge of TypeScript on Node.js and Python, cloud platforms, and experience running services in production.

Qualifications

• Six or more years of professional software engineering, including at least two in a senior or lead capacity on a production system.
• Designed and operated a system at scale with metrics, failures, costs, and improvements.
• Distributed systems depth: queues and streams, retries, idempotency, observability, and partial failure.
• Strong TypeScript on Node.js and strong Python, with the judgment to know which to use where.
• Cloud and Kubernetes fluency; production experience managing services on Kubernetes.
• Production ownership: defining SLOs, incident response, blameless post-incident reviews, and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Own one or more subsystems that make the platform work under load, including design, delivery, production operation, and reliability metrics.
• Mentor associate engineers toward ownership and raise the bar for engineering quality.
