Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

The role shall support the Assistant Manager - Environment Section in developing and executing environmental procedures, strategies and action plans to ensure pollution prevention techniques applied and the environment is protected during all time. The role of this position is also assisting Environment Section Head to ensure compliance with local regulations such as Supreme Council for Environment, international environmental standards, and ISO 14001. The position should provide expert opinions in environmental matters and provide recommendations on latest environmental technologies, best practices, and international standards that are applicable at BAC and BIA.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Introduce environmental programs that promote a positive environment culture throughout BAC and it subsidiary and sister companies, stakeholders, and BIA community. Support the Head in developing, implementing, and maintaining the environment management system and ensure that the system is followed by all BAC departments and for any activity being carried out at BIA. Plan awareness programs on environmental requirements/ pollution control, prevention & development. Support Head Environment in developing and enhancing the environmental Monitoring program and its implementation for BAC activities, stakeholders, and contractors. Inspect facilities, identifying potentially environmental hazards and provide engineering solution. Provide recommendations on various processes and improvements that will reduce environmental risks and pollution. Develop a high-level understanding of workplace processes and equipment to best discern opportunities for improvement and the elimination of any potential environmental impacts. Ensure awareness of environment and developments are communicated. Accurate and effective reporting / auditing documentation Perform root cause analysis for environmental incidents that occur within BIA to prevent reoccurrence. Provide regular updates to the Head Environment on environmental matters. Maintain knowledge of relevant and up to date environmental laws, legislation, latest technologies, and best practices to ensure that BIA follows and implements the best industry standards and practices within Bahrain and relevant external accrediting bodies. Perform regular audits on internal and external stakeholder ensuring that all environmental policies and procedures are being followed and ensuring the overall protection of environment. Perform Ad-hoc tasks as requested by Environment Head.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education / Qualifications Bachelor s degree in engineering, environment engineering, or environment science. Professional certificate in environment (e.g. Nebosh Environment, ISO 14001, etc) or environmental experience

Experience A minimum of 0-2 years experience in relevant field

Job Specific Skills : Proficient in English and Arabic Proficient in MS Office High Level Communication Skills Awareness of industry procedures and best practice and key industry environmental principles. Strong analytical skills
