Job summary

Bahrain Airport Services is seeking an experienced Airside Operations supervisor to manage all airside activities on a shift basis, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and efficient service delivery.

Responsibilities include directing personnel, coordinating GSE servicing, reporting daily operations, and maintaining accurate records. Requires 5+ years in airside or aviation roles, English proficiency, and a valid driving license.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years in Airside Operations or aviation-related experience.
• Completion of Aviation Operations related courses.
• Comprehensive knowledge in Operations and high customer service standards.
• Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
• Driving license required to drive within airport premises.

• Ensure adherence to Emergency Orders and disseminate procedures.
• Participate in meetings, assess procedures for continuous improvement, and monitor performance.

Job description

Main Objectives

Pro-actively manage, on a shift basis, all airside activities of Bahrain Airport Services, ensuring a safe, compliant, and both operationally, and financially efficient service delivery.

Main Duties

• Ensure all activities follow Bahrain Airport Services, customer airlines, and regulator procedures and ensure safety rules and regulations are followed by ramp personnel, and that airside safety is maintained to ensure adherence to safety and operational standards and minimize risk.
• Direct and supervise the activities of assigned personnel. Oversee equipment and services to ensure that all tasks are carried out efficiently to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage the delivery of all airside activities. Ensure the proper servicing of GSE (Ground Support Equipment) and the timely removal of unserviceable units to maintain smooth airport operations and prevent delays.
• Ensure all staff are trained, fully briefed, and aware of their responsibilities to enhance operational efficiency, ensure compliance with regulations, and minimize errors.
• Report to seniors, maintain shift reports, and monitor daily operations. Ensure all services are accurately recorded and provide credible, reliable management reports to track operations and ensure accountability.
• Complete and submit Accident/Incident reports. Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain safety and prevent recurrence of incidents.
• Ensure adherence to Bahrain Airport Services and Airport Authority Emergency Orders. Keep procedures/work instructions up to date and ensure dissemination to relevant teams to ensure efficient action during emergencies and alignment across teams.
• Participate in meetings related to airside activities, support other departments, and assess procedures for continuous improvement. Oversee the Performance Management System and ensure grooming and uniform standards are maintained to support operational excellence and professionalism.
• Comply with Company's and airport authorities’ health, safety & security requirements.
• Carries out other similar or related duties as directed by the management.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

• Should hold a college degree (preferably with any course related to aviation) or a minimum of high school diploma.

Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Airside Operations and/or a minimum of 5 years in any aviation related job experience preferably in ground handling services in a major airline.

Other Essential Requirements:

• Must complete Aviation Operations related courses.
• Comprehensive knowledge in Operations and high customer service standards.
• Good Knowledge of written and spoken English.
• Driving license is required. (Required to drive within the Airport/Airport license is required).
