Job summary

Keyrock in Bahrain is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join the Central Data Team. You will help build a data platform capable of ingesting, processing, and serving streaming and batch data for trading desks, product, risk, and research.

You’ll own end-to-end data pipelines, establish contracts and governance, design lakehouse architectures, and partner with architecture, infrastructure, and platform teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building production data systems that others rely on.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL: not just writing queries but understanding engine behavior.
• Strong understanding of data modelling for streaming and analytical workloads.
• Efficiency, quality, idempotency, and observability are taken seriously by default.

Responsibilities

• Build streaming and batch pipelines ingesting and distributing market, trading, and portfolio data with resilience to feed failures.
• Build self-serve tooling (SDKs, patterns, templates, AI agents) for data products.
• Own data contracts and schema evolution to prevent multi-team coordination overhead.
• Design lakehouse and time-series layer around common query patterns.
• Develop Data Governance and Data Quality Framework: validation, lineage, ownership, self-healing.
• Create derived analytics for desks, wealth, and risk teams; ensure observability and cost awareness.
