Job summary

Yokogawa Bahrain is seeking an experienced Advanced Process Control Engineer to lead the implementation of APC and real-time optimization across refining, petrochemical and polymer units.

The role involves designing control architectures, coordinating with project teams, and delivering robust APC solutions. A chemical engineering background with hands-on APC/PACE experience is required, with strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years work experience in Advanced Process Control & Real time optimization.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. Master’s degree preferable.
• Hands on experience commissioning APC Controllers in Refining, Petrochemical and Polymer process units.
• Hands on experience with steady state process simulation models in Refining, Petrochemical and Polymer units.
• APC implementation experience in Yokogawa APC software PACE would be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential areas and benefits for applying Real Time Optimization for various process units and specify hardware/software architecture for APC implementation.
• Develop steady state simulation models of process plants in Refining, Petrochemical and Polymer units.
• Carry out RTO implementations from design through commissioning and post-audit.
• Coordinate multiple projects and provide technical support for large RTO projects.
• Provide advisory and maintenance support including modifications to control strategies and RTO training.
