Job summary

Yokogawa is seeking an experienced Advanced Process Control engineer to implement APC, MVC, and related control packages across refining, petrochemical, and polymer units. You will define architectures, execute full project lifecycles from design through SAT and commissioning, and support post-audit activities.

The role requires 5+ years in APC, a chemical engineering degree (master’s preferred), and hands-on experience with Yokogawa PACE.

Qualifications

• 5+ years work experience in Advanced Process Control
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering; Master’s preferred
• Hands on commissioning APC Controllers in Refining, Petrochemical, Polymer units
• APC implementation experience with Yokogawa PACE is a plus

Responsibilities

• Identify potential APC application areas and define hardware/software architecture
• Execute APC & MVC implementations from design to commissioning and post-audit
• Coordinate multiple projects and provide technical support for APC/MVC deployments

Job Purpose

• Implementation of Advanced Process Control, advanced solution monitoring and control packages.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Ability to identify the potential areas and benefits for applying Advanced Process Control for various process Units and specify the hardware/software architecture to carry out APC implementation.
• Carry out APC & MVC implementations starting from Control Definition, Functional Design Specifications, Plant Testing, Detailed Engineering, Modeling of Controller and Estimator, Site Integration, SAT, Commissioning, Post Audit and PGTR.
• Multiple project co-ordination and provision of technical support for the successful completion of large APC & MVC projects for various process units.
• Provide advisory and maintenance support including carrying out modifications to the Control strategies to ensure higher APC up time and carry out the required APC training to plant operators & engineers.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years work experience in the field of Advanced Process Control.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. Master’s degree is preferable.
• Hands on experience for commissioning APC Controllers in Refining, Petrochemical and Polymer process units.
• APC implementation experience in Yokogawa APC software PACE would be an added advantage.
