Job summary

KPMG Bahrain is seeking a PHP Developer to join a short-term contract (2-3 months) to support platform adoption across the organization. The role targets 3-5 years of hands-on technical experience with PHP 8.x+ and enterprise frameworks, in a professional services setting, with a focus on architecture, deployment, and ongoing improvements.

The ideal candidate will have solid MySQL knowledge, frontend HTML/CSS, and familiarity with GDPR/PDPL compliance considerations as part of digital solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Technical Scoping: Analyze complex client/internal challenges to document requirements for new tool development.
• Solution Architecture: Design automated workflow solutions for internal processes and clients.
• Deployment Support: Oversee localized rollout, deployment, testing support.
• Ongoing Change Management: Manage small-scale code enhancements and system updates.
• Platform Administration: Maintain KLH central master library for data integrity and availability.
• Local SPOC: Onsite single point of contact for local/regional units and external teams.
• Risk & IT Alignment: Coordinate with local IT, NITSO, Risk Management for compliance before deployment.
• Tender Assessment/Business Development: Evaluate government tender applicability and coordinate responses.

We are seeking a PHP Developer who is looking to transition into a professional services environment. This role is ideally suited for a candidate with 3-5 years of hands-on working technical experience to support platform adoption across the organisation, with defined KPIs and goals. The initial term of this contract will be 2 -3 months, with the possibility of extension based on business requirements and performance.

Essential Technical Skills Required

• Backend: Strong working knowledge of PHP (8.x+) and main-stack frameworks for enterprise application development
• Frontend: Clean semantic coding using modern HTML5, CSS3, and standard web principles
• Database Management: Good knowledge of MySQL schema design, relational query optimization, and structured data handling
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products
• AI experience and knowledge is an added advantage

Roles and Responsibilities

Requirement Scoping

• Technical Scoping: Analyse complex client and internal business/ process challenges to produce detailed documentation of the technical scope requirements for new tool development
• Solution Architecture: Identify and design automated workflow solutions for internal business processes and external clients

Platform Management

• Deployment Support: Oversee the localized rollout, deployment, and testing support
• Ongoing Change Management: Directly manage and execute small-scale code enhancements and post-development system updates
• Platform Administration: Maintain and administer KLH central master library to ensure data integrity and system availability

Stakeholder Management

• Local SPOC: Act as the dedicated onsite single point of contact for all local/ regional business units and external client teams
• Risk & IT Alignment: collaborate with with local IT, NITSO, and Risk Management teams to validate scope/ solutions for compliance before deployment
• Tender Assessment/ Business Development: Evaluate government tender applicability for digital/ software solutions and coordinate strategic responses with internal tender teams
• Security & Compliance Frameworks: Understanding of GDPR, PDPL, and other cyber/ data security frameworks of Bahrain

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Preferred certifications:

• Project Management (PMP-PBA)
• Zend Certified PHP Engineer
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
• Laravel Certification or Symfony Certified Developer
