Job summary

APM Terminals Bahrain is seeking a Head of Lean & Business Transformation Strategy to drive lean, continuous improvement and strategic execution across the terminal. You will work closely with the Managing Director and regional stakeholders to translate strategy into actionable programs and embed sustainable ways of working.

In this leadership role, you will standardize processes, lead Kaizens, build capability, and coach senior leaders to achieve measurable outcomes for the KBSP 2030 Growth

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of relevant experience in management consulting, business transformation or similar roles.
• Experience with lean transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience influencing senior leaders and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the lean and business transformation agenda across APM Terminals Bahrain.
• Drive implementation of Way of Working, standardization and capability building.
• Coordinate initiatives supporting the KBSP 2030 Growth Strategy and annual plan.
• Coach leaders to embed continuous improvement and behavioral change.
• Track initiatives, risks, dependencies and drive timely decisions.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and structured problem solving.

APM Terminals Bahrain operates Khalifa Bin Salman Port (KBSP), a key maritime and logistics gateway for the Kingdom of Bahrain. As we continue our transformation and growth journey, we are looking for a Head of Lean & Business Transformation Strategy to help shape and deliver our strategic priorities, including the KBSP 2030 Growth Strategy.

About the Role

This is a key leadership role responsible for driving Lean, continuous improvement and business transformation across APM Terminals Bahrain.

Working closely with the Managing Director, Bahrain leadership team and regional stakeholders, you will translate strategy into execution, strengthen our Lean culture and help embed sustainable ways of working across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Lean and business transformation agenda across APM Terminals Bahrain.
• Drive implementation of APM Terminals' Way of Working, including process standardization, Lean practices, Kaizens and capability building.
• Coordinate and drive initiatives supporting the KBSP 2030 Growth Strategy and annual business project plan.
• Coach and influence leaders to embed continuous improvement and sustainable behavioral change.
• Track strategic initiatives, identify risks and dependencies, and drive timely decision-making.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and structured problem solving across the terminal.
• Lead and develop the Lean & Business Transformation team.
• Provide leadership with clear visibility on progress, business impact, risks and key priorities.

What We're Looking For

• 5–8 years of relevant experience in management consulting, business transformation, strategy, operational excellence or similar roles.
• Strong experience in program management, Lean or continuous improvement deployment.
• Experience working with and influencing senior leaders and multiple stakeholders.
• Strong change management, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proven ability to translate strategy into practical implementation and measurable results.Experience in ports, terminals, logistics, infrastructure or complex operational environments would be an advantage.
• Middle East experience and exposure to public‑private stakeholder environments would be beneficial.
• Project management and/or Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
• Strong communication, facilitation and executive‑level PowerPoint/storytelling skills.
