Job summary

Teleport Bahrain is seeking a driven leader to own the Middle East ground corridor end-to-end, from Bahrain landing to GCC delivery. You will run the Bahrain hub-to-truck handoff and manage our trucking partners across ME lanes, while building the customs and government relationships that keep freight moving.

You’ll start hands-on as an individual contributor and grow into leading the local team as volume scales, balancing operations with regulatory engagement and partner management.

Qualifications

• You operate in Arabic and English, the languages of the authorities and partners you'll deal with daily.
• Hindi or Urdu is a real advantage on the ground with the driver workforce.
• You’re a Bahraini national. The ministry-facing nature of the role and Bahrainisation make this a requirement.

About The Role

Teleport moves cargo across Southeast Asia and beyond on the region's largest air logistics network. We're opening our Middle East ground corridor: Teleport charters land in Bahrain, and from there shipments are trucked across the GCC through our road partners.

This is Teleport's first hire in Bahrain. This is the person who owns what happens on the ground the moment freight comes off the aircraft. You'll run the Bahrain hub-to-truck handoff, manage our trucking partners across the ME lanes, and build the customs and government relationships that keep freight moving. You'll start hands-on as an individual contributor and grow into building and leading the local team as volume scales.

A DAY IN A LIFE

Your day will be varied, often crossing functions, but most of your time will focus on delivering results, owning your scope end-to-end, making fast, data-informed decisions, and following through on fundamentals like reporting, documentation, and processes.

How we work matters as much as what we achieve. Doing the basics right, every time, sets us up for success.

You own the Middle East ground corridor end to end. The freight moving reliably from a Bahrain landing to a delivered shipment across the GCC is yours to make happen, however that needs to happen.

Most of your time will be spent driving impact through:

• The corridor's performance. Freight clears, moves and arrives predictably across the ME lanes. When something breaks, you're the one who sees it early and fixes it before it becomes a customer's problem
• The partner network. Our trucking and transport partners deliver to standard, and you hold them there: whether that means a hard conversation on reliability or a better rate on a proven lane
• The government relationships. You're Teleport's face to Bahrain Customs, the ministries and the authorities across destination markets. Freight clears cleanly because the right people know us and trust us
• The market as it grows. You start as the operator on the ground and become the person who builds the team, the processes and the playbook as volume scales

Year one priority

Reliability of the corridor and the strength of our customs / ministry relationships. Get freight moving predictably and keep it clearing cleanly. Cost optimisation follows once the lanes are proven.

Requirements

You’ve run logistics or freight operations in the GCC and you know how goods actually move here: not just the theory, but the customs officer to call, the broker who gets it done, the trucking partner who won’t let you down.

You read the regulatory landscape well enough to keep freight clearing, and you build the relationships that make that possible.

You’re equally comfortable on a warehouse floor and in a ministry meeting. You can run this solo today and build a team tomorrow, and you'd rather own a market than manage a task list.

These are minimum-requirement skills and a ‘must-have' for the role:

• You operate in Arabic and English, the languages of the authorities and partners you'll deal with daily. Hindi or Urdu is a real advantage on the ground with the driver workforce
• You’re a Bahraini national. The ministry-facing nature of the role and Bahrainisation make this a requirement

Nice to have

• Air cargo or charter background
• Dangerous-goods and cargo-security awareness
