Job summary

GE Vernova seeks an ECT Technical Application Engineer in Bahrain to drive GA Market business development, prequalification, and market understanding. You will provide L2 technical support, coordinate with GE Vernova sales, engineering and services, and report to the GA Lead Technical Applications Engineer.

This 12-month role emphasizes technical sessions, product launches support, tendering, and market monitoring to enhance regional profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering from an accredited university.
• Fresh Graduates or up to 2 years of experience.
• Fluent in English.
• Legal right to work in Bahrain without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Technical Sessions: Technical Marketing, opportunities from installed base, market information.
• Application Support (L2): Provide technical support to clients in the region, develop customized solutions.
• Promotions & Approvals: support product launches, approvals, spec‑in activities, exhibitions and site trials.
• Product Problems / Non-quality Issues: investigate and resolve issues as requested by customers.
• Commercial (Tendering & Negotiation): support tendering and contract negotiations.
• Commercial channels & Market Monitoring: gather competitor data, monitor market trends and requirements.
• Product Management: track obsolescences, firmware upgrades, and product literature needs.

Job Description Summary

In this role, the ECT Technical Application Engineer will be working on business development of GA Market, products prequalification, competitor, and GA market understanding, L2 technical support, customer intimacy with clients in Utilities, O&G, Technical session, marketing in Bahrain. He will closely coordinate his activities with GE Vernova sales, engineering and services. This position will report to GA Lead Technical Applications Engineer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Sessions: Technical Marketing, creation of opportunities based on installed base, and market information.
• Application Support (L2): Provide technical support to clients in the region e.g. technical queries, developing customized solutions, supporting scheme engineering, analyzing field performance etc.
• Promotions & Approvals: Support product launches, presentations, discussions, spec-in activities, exhibitions, site trials etc. through Marketing. Implement actions necessary for product approvals based on regional strategy and priorities
• Product Problems / Non-quality Issues: Support investigation and resolving product problems reported when requested by customers (L2). Support local actions required for resolution of major non-quality issues
• Commercial (Tendering & Negotiation): Support Tendering team - Study customer’s technical & commercial requirements. Support Management during contract negotiation
• Commercial channels & Market Monitoring: Improve awareness of GA solutions. Obtain competitor data, market share, volume etc. Track evolving customer specifications & requirements.
• Product Management: Be aware of product obsoletions, new product availability etc. and provide appropriate customer support in line with regional strategy. Keep track of firmware upgrades, changes in product features etc. and participate in necessary local actions. Support customers vis‑à‑vis product literature needs.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or/and Power systems Engineering or a related field from an accredited university or college.
• Fresh Graduates or Maximum 2 years experience
• Fluent in English
• The legal right to work in Bahrain without company sponsorship or time restriction.

• Interest & college project experience in Automation products, Grid Automation field.
• Knowledge & experience in protection relays, substation automation.
• Strong interpersonal and analytical skills to quickly understand and guide solutions.
