Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. in Manama, Bahrain, seeks an ECT Technical Application Engineer to drive GA Market development, prequalification, and market understanding. You will provide L2 technical support and engage with clients in Utilities and O&G, coordinating with sales, engineering and services.

The role reports to the GA Lead Technical Applications Engineer and is a 12-month assignment focused on technical sessions, promotions, and market monitoring to improve product adoption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Power systems Engineering or a related field.
• Fresh Graduates or Maximum 2 years experience
• Fluent in English
• The legal right to work in Bahrain without company sponsorship or time restriction.

Responsibilities

• Technical Sessions: Marketing, opportunities from installed base, and market information.
• Application Support (L2): Provide technical support to regional clients, develop customized solutions, analyze field performance.
• Promotions & Approvals: Support product launches, spec-in activities, exhibitions, site trials; assist regional product approvals.
• Product Problems / Non-quality Issues: Investigate and resolve product issues; support major non-quality actions.
• Commercial (Tendering & Negotiation): Support tendering; review technical and commercial requirements; assist management during contracts.
• Commercial channels & Market Monitoring: Gather competitor data, monitor market share, track evolving customer specs.
• Product Management: Track firmware upgrades and new product features; support literature needs.

Job Description Summary

In this role, the ECT Technical Application Engineer will be working on business development of GA Market, products prequalification, competitor, and GA market understanding, L2 technical support, customer intimacy with clients in Utilities, O&G, Technical session, marketing in Bahrain. He will closely coordinate his activities with GE Vernova sales, engineering and services. This position will report to GA Lead Technical Applications Engineer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Sessions: Technical Marketing, creation of opportunities based on installed base, and market information.
• Application Support (L2): Provide technical support to clients in the region e.g. technical queries, developing customized solutions, supporting scheme engineering, analyzing field performance etc.
• Promotions & Approvals: Support product launches, presentations, discussions, spec-in activities, exhibitions, site trials etc. through Marketing. Implement actions necessary for product approvals based on regional strategy and priorities
• Product Problems / Non-quality Issues: Support investigation and resolving product problems reported when requested by customers (L2). Support local actions required for resolution of major non-quality issues
• Commercial (Tendering & Negotiation): Support Tendering team - Study customer’s technical & commercial requirements. Support Management during contract negotiation
• Commercial channels & Market Monitoring: Improve awareness of GA solutions. Obtain competitor data, market share, volume etc. Track evolving customer specifications & requirements.
• Product Management: Be aware of product obsoletions, new product availability etc. and provide appropriate customer support in line with regional strategy. Keep track of firmware upgrades, changes in product features etc. and participate in necessary local actions. Support customers vis‑à‑vis product literature needs.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or/and Power systems Engineering or a related field from an accredited university or college.
• Fresh Graduates or Maximum 2 years experience
• Fluent in English
• The legal right to work in Bahrain without company sponsorship or time restriction.
