Job summary

GE Vernova in Bahrain seeks an ECT Technical Application Engineer to develop the GA Market, prequalify products, and understand competitors. You will provide L2 technical support and maintain close customer intimacy with utilities in Bahrain.

The role reports to the GA Lead Technical Applications Engineer and is a 12-month assignment. The ideal candidate is a fresh graduate with up to 2 years' experience, fluent in English, and legally able to work in Bahrain without sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering from an accredited university.
• Fresh Graduates or up to 2 years of experience.
• Fluent in English; Bahrain work eligibility without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical sessions and create opportunities based on installed base and market data.
• Provide L2 application support to regional clients with customized solutions.
• Support product launches, marketing actions, and regional approvals.
• Assist in investigations of product problems and major non-quality issues.
• Support tendering, contract negotiations, and monitoring market trends.
• Keep customers informed about GA solutions, firmware changes, and product literature.

Job Description Summary

In this role, the ECT Technical Application Engineer will be working on business development of GA Market, products prequalification, competitor, and GA market understanding, L2 technical support, customer intimacy with clients in Utilities, O&G, Technical session, marketing in Bahrain. He will closely coordinate his activities with GE Vernova sales, engineering and services. This position will report to GA Lead Technical Applications Engineer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Sessions: Technical Marketing, creation of opportunities based on installed base, and market information.
• Application Support (L2): Provide technical support to clients in the region e.g. technical queries, developing customized solutions, supporting scheme engineering, analyzing field performance etc.
• Promotions & Approvals: Support product launches, presentations, discussions, spec-in activities, exhibitions, site trials etc. through Marketing. Implement actions necessary for product approvals based on regional strategy and priorities
• Product Problems / Non-quality Issues: Support investigation and resolving product problems reported when requested by customers (L2). Support local actions required for resolution of major non-quality issues
• Commercial (Tendering & Negotiation): Support Tendering team - Study customer’s technical & commercial requirements. Support Management during contract negotiation
• Commercial channels & Market Monitoring: Improve awareness of GA solutions. Obtain competitor data, market share, volume etc. Track evolving customer specifications & requirements.
• Product Management: Be aware of product obsoletions, new product availability etc. and provide appropriate customer support in line with regional strategy. Keep track of firmware upgrades, changes in product features etc. and participate in necessary local actions. Support customers vis‑à‑vis product literature needs.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or/and Power systems Engineering or a related field from an accredited university or college.
• Fresh Graduates or Maximum 2 years experience
• Fluent in English
• The legal right to work in Bahrain without company sponsorship or time restriction.

• Knowledge & experience in protection relays, substation automation.
