Job summary

Sharaf DG in Bahrain is seeking a Store Manager to lead, inspire and motivate the store team to deliver the highest level of customer service. You will effectively manage the support departments of store operations focusing on operational efficiency: Cashiers, Inventory, Customer Care, Visual Merchandising and Security for operational efficiency.

The role requires 3–5 years in retail sales with 2–3 years in people management, and an MBA is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in Retail Sales including 2-3 years of people management.
• Educational Qualification - MBA preferred.
• Professional Certifications - Retail Management

Responsibilities

• Lead, inspire and motivate store teams to achieve top and bottom line targets.
• Monitor and review activities of all support functions against targets to improve productivity and efficiency.
• Work with Area Manager / CM – Operations to develop manpower plan and budget for the store.
• Set targets for each category within the store and communicate to team members.
• Ensure the store operates as an independent profit center focusing on efficiency, productivity and expenditures.
• Achieve store KPIs such as ATV, Conv., penetration, etc.
• Coordinate rosters to provide full coverage across all support departments.
• Collate training needs and ensure store skills are updated.
• Ensure SOPs are followed to prevent losses and seek sign-off for changes.
• Review department performance daily/weekly/monthly and escalate delays to Area Manager.
• Maintain store layout per planograms and brand guidelines.
• Monitor product availability for promotions and report shortfalls.
• Conduct regular team meetings to communicate performance and updates.
• Roll out store-specific projects on time and within budget.

Key Performance Areas (KPAs) & Principal Accountabilities

• Lead, inspire and motivate store teams to achieve top and bottom line targets
• Monitor and review activities of all support functions against pre-determined targets that are set as per the AOP including productivity increase & improving efficiency
• Work closely with Area Manager / CM – Operations to develop and implement manpower plan and budget for the store
• Work closely with the Area Manager to set targets for each category within the store and communicate targets to each team within the store
• Ensure the store is operating as an independent profit center focusing on improving efficiency/productivity and the expenditure of the store
• Achieving the store KPIs ATV, Conv., targeted penetration etc.
• Work with Team Leaders to develop rosters that provide full coverage across all support departments
• Collate training and development needs across the allocated area and follow up on training requirements to ensure store skills are adequately updated
• Ensure the store is operating in line with standard operating procedures in order to prevent any losses through damage or pilferage and protect profits and feedback any recommended changes to the Store Manager for review and sign off before implementing
• Work closely with the TL’s to review, monitor and track performance of each department on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
• Ensure store layout is in line with store planograms and visual merchandising is in line with brand guidelines
• Monitor product availability for any in store promotions. campaigns, reporting any shortfalls to the area manager
• Conduct regular team meetings with the teams to communicate performance, expectation, recognize good performance and communicate other business related updates
• Ensure any store specific projects e.g. store maintenance or improvements are rolled out in store to time and to budget without interruptions to store operations and any delays are escalated to the Area Manager
• Monitor and review support department performance and collate any specific development requirements to Store Manager
• Handle any specific escalated customer queries
• Training to store teams to enhance productivity & efficiency

Qualitative Requirements

• Experience (Yrs& Field) - 3-5 Yrs of experience in Retail Sales including 2-3 years of people management
• Educational Qualification - Preferably Post Graduate – preferably an MBA
• Professional Certifications - Retail Management
