Job summary

Bank of Jordan is seeking a Credit Analyst in Bahrain to perform detailed financial and credit analysis for corporate and institutional clients. You will support assessment, approval and monitoring of credit exposures in line with policies and regulatory requirements.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience in credit and corporate banking, and fluent English. You will collaborate with Risk, Legal, Compliance and Relationship Management to ensure sound credit decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or related field.
• 5+ years in banking with at least 3 years in credit or corporate banking.
• Fluent English and strong analytical and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed financial analysis of corporate and institutional clients.
• Review financial statements, management accounts, cash flows and key financial ratios.
• Assess repayment capacity, liquidity, leverage, profitability and overall financial strength.
• Analyze proposed facilities, structures, security and sources of repayment.
• Identify key credit risks and recommend appropriate risk mitigants.
• Prepare high-quality credit applications, reviews and credit reports for approval.
• Monitor existing credit exposures, limits, utilization and account conduct.
• Identify early-warning indicators and deterioration in credit quality.
• Conduct industry, economic and market analysis relevant to credit decisions.
• Support assessment of expected credit losses and other credit-risk requirements.
• Ensure credit recommendations are consistent with the bank’s risk appetite and credit policies.
• Maintain appropriate credit files, documentation and records.
• Coordinate with Relationship Management, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Treasury and other relevant functions.
• Support periodic portfolio reviews and credit-risk reporting.
• Contribute to business continuity and effective management of credit-related processes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Bahrain Central Bank requirements and internal policies.

ROLE SUMMARY

A Credit Analyst is responsible for conducting detailed financial and credit analysis of corporate and institutional clients and supporting the assessment, approval and monitoring of credit exposures. The role evaluates financial performance, repayment capacity, risk factors and proposed facilities while ensuring compliance with the bank’s credit policies, risk framework and regulatory requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct detailed financial analysis of corporate and institutional clients.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Statistics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the banking sector, including at least 3 years of relevant experience in Credit, Credit Analysis or Corporate Banking, preferably with a leading local, regional or international bank.
• Strong financial-analysis and credit-assessment skills.
• Strong understanding of corporate credit and risk concepts.
• Good knowledge of Credit Risk, Market Risk, Operational Risk and Liquidity Risk.
• Good understanding of Stress Testing, Basel requirements and expected credit losses.
• Experience in the Bahraini Banking sector is an advantage
• Strong analytical and statistical capabilities.
• Good knowledge of corporate banking products and facilities.
• Good understanding of banking policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Strong report-writing and presentation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify financial and credit risks.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
