Job summary

The University of Strathclyde, Bahrain, is seeking a Teaching Fellow / Lecturer in Civil Engineering to contribute to the development and delivery of the BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering programme at the Bahrain campus. The role covers undergraduate teaching across core modules and collaboration with the Bahrain–Glasgow team.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Civil Engineering or equivalent with substantial teaching experience and a commitment to inclusive, research-informed engineering education.

• PhD in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline; strong teaching credentials.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and learning; support student progression towards professional competency.
• Ability to collaborate with Bahrain and Glasgow campuses to develop curricula and assessments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality undergraduate teaching across civil engineering modules (structures, geotechnics, materials, environmental science, surveying, hydraulics and hydrology, sustainable development).
• Co-develop course materials and assessments with the Bahrain–Glasgow team.
• Support student progression and contribute to academic standards and culture of the campus.
