Job summary

Deutsche Post is seeking an experienced aircraft maintenance engineer to join its Insanely Customer Centric team. You will perform maintenance to the highest safety standards, supervise licensed engineers, and release aircraft for service with proper certification.

Role requires five years of experience, a valid EASA Part 66 or ICAO Type 2 license (B767 endorsement), and the ability to communicate effectively with flight crews and dispatchers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
• Licensed certifying and company approved engineer on principal types.
• Valid EASA Part 66 or ICAO Type 2 with Boeing 767 endorsement.
• Able to communicate assertively, effectively and diplomatically with flight crew and ground staff.
• Completed minimum 18 months in current role.

Responsibilities

• Ensure aircraft maintenance is performed to the highest standards and in compliance with data.
• Maintain and update Company IT assets (IPADs and onboard mobile devices).
• Communicate shift handovers for continuity and safety.
• Requisition parts, ensure serviceability and proper documentation.
• Maintain and manage ETL as end users and print procedures in ETL failure.
• Ensure all maintenance documentation is properly actioned and completed.
• Stay up to date with regulations, SBs, ADs and service letters.
• Complete mandatory training quarterly (SFAR 88, fuel tank safety, Human Factors).
• Report safety risks through the SMS at base, during flights and at outstations.
• Ensure GSE is maintained and defects reported to GSE mechanic.
• Keep roster changes up to date in AIMs system.
• Keep line maintenance areas neat and orderly.
• Act on behalf of Line Supervisor/Line Manager when required.
• Able to analyze and troubleshoot aircraft systems and engines.
• Prioritize work based on fleet movements and maintenance schedules.

ROLE PURPOSE:

• To carry out maintenance, repair, modifications and alterations to customer or company owned, leased or operated aircraft.
• Supervises licensed engineers and unlicensed maintenance mechanics. Has authorization to release aircraft back to service for which he is legally entitled to certify.
• Technical role with authorization to release aircraft back to service for which he is legally entitled to certify.
• Maintaining highest standards of safety and airworthiness whilst assessing multiple factors surrounding aircraft serviceability.

YOUR TASKS:

• Ensure that aircraft maintenance is performed to the highest standards and at all times in compliance with applicable and approved data.
• Responsible for the upkeep and update of Company issued IT such as IPADs & onboard carried mobile phones.
• Responsible for the written and verbal communication of information from his shift to the succeeding shift to ensure a satisfactory level of continuity and safety with regard to work in progress (or pending) with respect to aircraft, equipment, personnel and safety.
• Be responsible for requisitioning of parts from stores, assuring serviceability of parts, completion of appropriate tags, return of parts to stores and assuring that required forms and documents are properly completed.
• Maintain and Manage the ETL as end users including the procedure to print in the event of ETL failure.
• Ensure that all maintenance related documentation is properly actioned and completed.
• Keep up to date on all applicable regulations, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives and manufacturer's service letters and other pertinent publications.
• Responsible for the completion of mandatory training on a quarterly basis such as Continuation Training, SFAR 88 Fuel Tank safety & Human Factors.
• Shall ensure that safety precautions and safe practices are adhered to and practiced by those personnel under his direction. Reporting any unsafe conditions or equipment through the SMS.
• The reporting of safety risks at main base, during flights and at outstations through the SMS.
• Ensure that company owned and/or operated maintenance and ground support equipment is operated and maintained in safe and operable condition. All GSE defects to be documented and reported to the GSE mechanic.
• Responsible to keep up to date with roster change notifications from the AIMs system even on days off.
• Ensure that all line maintenance areas are always kept in a neat and orderly manner.
• Will be required to act on behalf of Line Supervisor or Line Manager as required.
• Must be able to analyse and troubleshoot aircraft systems and engines utilising knowledge learnt from individual aircraft type courses, maintenance manuals and references, and experience gained from "hands on" practical OJT.
• Must be able to make timely and appropriate decisions based on problem solving ability and experience. Remains objective and co-ordinates with relevant departments, even when under pressure, to make a calculated decision with considerations given to safe 'on time performance' of the company fleet.
• Must be able to prioritise work requirements based on fleet arrivals, departures and scheduled maintenance. Monitor progress throughout shift, anticipate problems and adjust work or schedule to ensure optimum serviceability at all times. Including flying technical support when called upon.

YOUR PROFILE:

• Must have a minimum of 5 years' aircraft maintenance experience, excluding apprenticeship or basic training.
• Must be a licensed, certifying and company approved engineer on the principal types operated.
• Valid EASA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance License or ICAO Type 2 License, with endorsement in Boeing 767 Aircraft
• Must be able to communicate assertively, effectively and diplomatically with flight crew, flight dispatchers, ground handling personnel and senior management, as required.
• Have Completed a minimum of 18 months in the current role.
