Job summary

Deutsche Post in Bahrain seeks a seasoned Powerplant Engineer to ensure continued airworthiness for Aircraft Powerplant/APU. You will oversee material management, shop visits, and liaison with OEMs, authorities, and suppliers while driving EHM programs and LLP trace packages.

Your profile includes a 3+ year Powerplant background, CAMO advantages, and a maintenance license. Proficiency with TRAX/AMOS, GE tools, and MS Office is desired.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience of Technical Services Powerplant Engineering.
  • GE CF6-80C2 CAMO Technical Experience a distinct advantage
  • A graduate or Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (EASA / FAA / ICAO Type II).
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of software, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience using My Boeing Fleet, General Electric and the GE AirVault application would be considered an advantage.
  • Experience with the Trax or AMOS Maintenance systems or other similar maintenance software would be considered an advantage.
  • Experience using Engine Health Monitoring (EHM) software, particularly General Electric, would be considered an advantage.
  • Experience interpolating Flight Data via a Flight Data Monitoring System would be considered an advantage.
  • Experience reviewing Engine LLP/APU BTB Trace packages.
  • Experience putting together Engine/APU LLP BTB trace packages.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering assistance to aircraft production and liaise with manufacturers.
  • Assist Powerplant with material forecasting, sourcing, and pre-purchase review.
  • Manage engine shop visit process from planning to paperwork review.
  • Visit off-wing maintenance providers for shop inspections.
  • Support line maintenance with troubleshooting and OEM liaison.
  • Maintain Engine/APU Health Monitoring Program and trend reports.

ROLE PURPOSE:

To assist the Technical Services Manager - Powerplant and thus ensure that DHL has comprehensive Aircraft Powerplant continued airworthiness support.

YOUR TASKS:
  • Technical Services provides engineering assistance to aircraft production in the form of troubleshooting systems defects and liaison with the aircraft/engine manufacturer. The department assesses technical documentation which is received from airworthiness authorities, manufacturers or vendors.
  • To assist the Powerplant Department with material management. This involves, but not limited to, forecasting projected future consumption of materials, sourcing, pre-purchase approval review, post-purchase technical review of the paperwork, BTB trace review for LLP’s, managing material from source to final destination, managing the material through the shop process and ensuring that the material and it’s technical information is accurately reflected on the company’s management system (TRAX)
  • To assist the Technical Services Manager - Powerplant and thus ensure that DHL has comprehensive Aircraft Powerplant continued airworthiness support.
  • To accurately and effectively manage large volumes of material movement and ensure our Management System (TRAX) is updated accordingly in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring compliance with Materials Receiving Inspection procedures
  • Evaluation of new company aircraft for airworthiness compliance to determine Aircraft Powerplant / APU modifications that may be required.
  • Researching Aircraft Powerplant / APU data in support of Service Bulletin assessment.
  • Assessment of engineering requirements to enable efficient overhaul / repair of aircraft Powerplant / APU related components. (Requisitions and Quotations).
  • Manage the full engine shop visit process from removal planning & work scope creation to invoice review and release paperwork review.
  • Visit off-wing maintenance providers to carry out shop visit “table-top inspections”.
  • Forecast future projected material consumption and source needed materials.
  • Review multiple vendor options and pre-approve purchases.
  • Review Life Limited Parts (LLP) Back-To-Birth (BTB) Trace pre-purchase and approve purchase.
  • Manage the LLP BTB Folders for each Engine/APU for accuracy & currency.
  • Soft Life Management for LRU’s and non-LLP components.
  • Manage material movements for Engine / APU’s going to shop.
  • Manage material movement for Engines/APU going through the shop process.
  • Support for line maintenance on troubleshooting & technical support issues by liaison with OEMs, and Aircraft / Powerplant / APU Manufacturers.
  • Provide technical and advisory support to the Maintenance, Quality, Stores and Flight Operations Departments.
  • Full responsibility for Engine/APU Health Monitoring Program (EHM), compilation of engine/APU trend reports and recommendation of specific maintenance actions
  • Monitor on-wing life of engines/APU, via EHM, LLP Life limitations, AD limitations.
  • Evaluation of potential engines/APU’s for procurement.
  • Monitor preservation and storage requirements for spare engines/APU.
  • The assessments and analysis of Manufacturer’s Alert Service Bulletins, Service Bulletins, Service Letters and Fleet Team Digest notifications and making recommendations concerning the enhancement of aircraft Powerplant/APU reliability.
  • Assessment of Powerplant/APU Systems related future requirements Mandated by Airworthiness Authorities.
  • The assessments and analysis of Airworthiness Directives issued by the Federal Aviation Administration or other related Airworthiness Authorities.
  • Any reasonable request from DHL Management.
  • Liaise with vendors and Civil Aviation Authorities.
