leading-edge is seeking a skilled vehicle technician in Bahrain to diagnose and repair cars, trucks, and SUVs. You will conduct diagnostics on steering systems, perform repairs, and complete preventive maintenance while maintaining thorough records.

The role requires 3+ years in technician positions, experience with American vehicles, and proficiency with diagnostic tools. Strong safety and quality focus is essential in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: 3+ years in technician roles with steering system repairs and diagnostics.
• Automotive steering systems expertise (hydraulic, electric, mechanical).
• Basic MS Office skills; graphing software a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicles within a reasonable timeframe to exceed customer expectations.
• Perform diagnostics, repairs, overhaul and replacements for steering, suspension, and brake components.
• Use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance, fluid changes, lubrications, safety inspections, and repairs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records for all vehicles and equipment.
• Troubleshoot vehicle systems and recommend repairs.
• Follow paperwork procedures, document repairs, mileage, and warranty information.
• Conduct final operational tests to quality-check repairs.
• Provide cross-functional support as needed.
• Observe safety regulations and handle additional duties as required.

Essential Job Functions:

• Diagnose and Repair: Accurately diagnose and repair vehicles within a reasonable timeframe, exceeding customer expectations.
• Detailed Diagnostics: Perform diagnostics, repairs, overhaul, and replacements for steering, suspension, and brake components.
• Specialized Tools: Use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance, including fluid changes, lubrications, safety inspections, and repairs.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate maintenance records on all vehicles and equipment.
• Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot vehicle systems, identifying causes of maintenance problems and recommending repairs.
• Paperwork: Follow paper-flow procedures, documenting repairs, mileage, and warranty information.
• Quality Control: Perform final operational tests on all vehicles to quality-check repairs.
• Cross-Functional Support: Perform duties of Repair Technician and Maintenance Technician as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: 3+ years in Technician roles, with proven experience in steering system repairs and diagnostics
• Expertise: Automotive steering systems, including hydraulic, electric, and mechanical configurations
• Computer Skills: Basic Microsoft Office skills required, intermediate level preferred, and graphing software experience a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical Degree: Automotive Services
• Certifications: Relevant steering or automotive systems certification programs
• Advanced Technology Experience: Electric power steering (EPS) or autonomous vehicle steering systems

Knowledge

• Brakes and Suspensions: Strong knowledge
• Mechanic Tools: Proficient with hand tools, pneumatic tools, and diagnostic equipment
• Hydraulics Systems: Solid understanding

• Hours: 60 hours/week, including overtime, Saturdays, and occasional evenings
• Schedule: Shorter hours Thursday, off Friday, 1.30 hour lunch break
• Travel: Occasional travel between locations
• Exposures: Moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, electrical shock, vibration, wet/humid conditions, outside weather, combustibles
• Environment: Fast-paced, loud noise level
