ARKIS in Bahrain seeks an experienced Arabic Curriculum Leader to oversee Arabic teaching across the school, develop the Arabic curriculum, and ensure high standards in assessment and learning. Responsibilities include monitoring teaching quality, analysing progress data, mentoring Arabic staff and aligning with school policies.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Arabic, Education, or a related field.
• Relevant teaching qualification such as B.Ed. or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant teaching experience.
• Experience in an international school is preferred.
• Previous experience in subject coordination or departmental leadership is an advantage.
• Experience in curriculum planning, assessment, data analysis and quality assurance.
• Strong knowledge of Arabic curriculum, teaching and learning across different school levels.
• Familiarity with IB curricula is preferred.
• Excellent spoken and written Arabic and English.
• Strong leadership, communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lead, mentor and develop teachers.
• Strong understanding of assessment, differentiation and student progress.
• Ability to use student data to identify gaps and implement effective interventions.
• Commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, inclusion and continuous improvement.

Aufgaben

• Lead and coordinate the Arabic subject across the Whole School, ensuring consistency and high standards in teaching, learning and assessment.
• Lead the development, review and implementation of the Arabic curriculum, schemes of work and learning resources.
• Monitor the quality of teaching and learning through lesson observations, planning reviews and other quality-assurance activities.
• Analyse student attainment and progress data and lead appropriate interventions to improve outcomes.
• Lead, mentor and support Arabic teachers through coaching, professional development and regular departmental meetings.
• Ensure consistent assessment, marking, moderation, reporting and target-setting practices.
• Maintain a teaching allocation and model high-quality classroom practice.
• Keep the department updated on relevant curriculum, syllabus and examination requirements.
• Work closely with school leadership, teachers, students and parents to support student progress and school priorities.
• Support Arabic-related events and extracurricular activities across the school.
• Ensure departmental practices comply with school policies relating to safeguarding, health and safety, inclusion and student wellbeing.
