Spookling is hiring a Backend Engineer (AI Agent/Harness Specialist) to design and maintain backend services powering an AI-first workspace. You will focus on agent orchestration, integration harnesses, and scalable data pipelines, collaborating with product, AI/ML engineers and frontend developers.

The role is full-time and on-site in Manama, Bahrain, within a fast-paced startup environment that values experimentation and rapid iteration.

Qualifications

• Strong back-end development with APIs and microservices.
• Production-grade systems design and maintenance.
• Experience with OOP and scalable architectures.
• Proficiency in Python/Node/Go/Java and related frameworks.
• Ability to collaborate with front-end teams on API design.
• Experience integrating AI/ML models into backends.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain backend services powering AI-driven workspace.
• Develop APIs, data pipelines and microservices with performance in mind.
• Integrate AI agents with backend systems and monitor tooling.
• Collaborate with product, ML engineers and front-end developers to translate requirements.
