V2X, a global provider of integrated physical and digital infrastructure solutions, seeks an experienced welder to perform diverse welding tasks across flat to overhead positions. You will read blueprints, select materials, clamp parts, and supervise junior welders to ensure quality and safety in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a High School diploma, ten years of related experience, US citizenship, and a valid driver’s license; welding certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ten years of directly related work experience required.
• Must demonstrate strong English comprehension, including speaking, reading, and writing.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Welding certification is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Reads and interprets blueprints and machine drawings to determine welding requirements.
• Oversees preventive and corrective maintenance work performed by junior welders.
• Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions and oversees subordinates.
• Ensures consumable materials are on hand and in significant quantities as to not run out.
• Repairs broken or cracked parts and fills holes. Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
• Positions and clamps workpieces together or assemble them in jig or fixtures.
• Selects torch, torch tip, filler rod and flux, according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of material.
• Cleans or de-greases parts. Chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter.
• Performs all necessary maintenance and repair on all equipment used in welding.
• Be able to move parts in and move finished product out of welding area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

This position should be capable of performing a variety of welding functions. The individual should be familiar with and capable of using various types of welding equipment. A welder is also required to perform other miscellaneous tasks, as deems necessary

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications
• Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.
  • High School diploma required.
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must possess a valid US driver’s license
  • Welding certification preferred
• Experience:
  • Ten (10) years of directly related work experience required.
  • Incumbent must demonstrate a high degree of English comprehension, including speaking, understanding, reading, writing, and typing.
  • Must be detailed oriented and organized.
• Skills:
  • Interpersonal and communication skills are requirements of this position as there is constant interaction with military personnel.
• Working Environment:
  • This position works indoors/outdoors and expect to work in conditions of moderate heat and frequent rain (i.e. - heat, humidity, etc.).
  • Prolonged exposure in above-described environments is often necessary. Incumbents should be able to lift, push, and pull 40lbs. Work environment is often fast paced and at times requires exposure to high heat and humidity.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
