V2X is seeking a Licensed Mariner I to operate and maintain the U.S. Army LCMs and ferries in international waters near Kwajalein Atoll.

The role requires leadership of a small crew, adherence to safety and navigation standards, and accurate vessel paperwork. You will schedule watch stations, oversee cargo handling, and supervise up to three personnel with on‑the‑job training and preventive maintenance coordination.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Coast Guard 100T Master license with STCW endorsements for international waters.
• Preferred: degree from a certified college or U.S. Maritime Academy.
• Certifications: U.S. Coast Guard 100T Master license with all applicable STCW endorsements; RADAR endorsement.
• Experience: Three years of supervisory experience as a Captain.
• Skills: Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS); strong English communication; planning and organizational skills.

Under the direction of the Port Captain, the Licensed Mariner I is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the U.S. Army LCM's and Ferry, or Catamaran Class vessels. Qualifications

• Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if the degree is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: Degree from a certified college, university, or U.S. Maritime Academy.
• Certifications:
  • U.S. Coast Guard 100T Master license with all applicable STCW endorsements for international waters or a valid RMI level 5 license;
  • A valid RADAR endorsement:
• Preferred: U.S. Coast Guard Master's License greater than 100T; U.S. Coast Guard Master of Tow License.
• Experience: Three (3) years’ supervisory experience as a Captain.
• Skills.
  • Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and storage requirements to meet compatibility of products based on hazard class is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and good judgement is required.
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy is required.
  • Advance ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in written form is required.
  • High-level organizational and planning skills, so that workflow is managed and accurate is required.
• Working Conditions:
  • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 130 degrees in the summer months).
  • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
