ENGIE Group, via LABORATOIRE BELGE DE L'INDUSTRIE ELECTRIQUE (Laborelec), seeks a Vibrations Project Engineer to monitor vibration behaviour of turbo generator shaft lines and perform root cause analyses for rotating machinery.

You will advise on condition monitoring strategies, engage in remote monitoring shifts, and participate in an on-call rotation to support clients. Fluency in English is required; Dutch/French a plus. The role is based in Linkebeek with occasional travel.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Enjoys data analysis, reporting, and technical problem-solving.
  • Customer-oriented, strong communicator, and a team player.
  • Works independently and takes initiative.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch or French is a plus.
  • Interested in operational support and direct client contact, rather than fundamental research or innovation.

  • Assess and analyse mechanical problems and vibration issues in power plant components, adding value through insightful interpretation and proposing effective solutions.

  • Take part in an on-call duty rotation (one week every eight weeks) to support urgent client requests.

As a Vibrations Project Engineer at Laborelec in Linkebeek (Brussels area), you’ll play a key role in monitoring and analyzing vibrations in major power plants. Most of your work is data-driven, focused on analysis, reporting, and regular client contact—mainly remote, with occasional on-site visits.

About the team Our dynamic international team of mechanical and vibrations engineers is renowned for its exceptional problem-solving skills in both the power energy sector and general industry. We excel in tackling complex challenges and are entrusted with the online monitoring of over 100 turbine shaft lines worldwide. Whenever issues arise, we are the go-to experts for on-site dedicated measurements.

At Laborelec, we collaborate closely with the Materials, Non-destructive Testing, and Electrical expert teams to deliver comprehensive and innovative solutions.

Your responsibilities as Vibrations Project Engineer (F/M/X)

To enhance our activities in identifying root causes of problems and conducting design assessments, we are seeking a Vibrations Project Engineer eager to develop his/her career inCondition Monitoring and Vibrations Analysis.

In this role, you will monitor the vibration behaviour of turbo generator shaft lines and engage in complex root cause analysis of rotating machinery. Additionally, you will advise our customers on the best condition monitoring strategies for their specific assets.

Your Mission:
