Job summary

DEME Group is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to drive technical preparation of maintenance and repair activities across our fleet of vessels. You will prepare and coordinate maintenance, repair, and improvement projects to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.

The role offers work across diverse vessels and technologies, with opportunities to broaden technical expertise and impact fleet performance.

Qualifications

Masters degree in a technical engineering field (marine or industrial preferred).
3+ years full-time professional experience in a similar role.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge and interest in vessel systems and operations.
Technical generalist or specialist with cross-challenge adaptability.
Teamwork and collaboration with diverse teams.
Based in Belgium or willing to relocate, and travel occasionally (80% HQ-based, 20% travel).

Responsibilities

Prepare and address technical problems, including repair methods, budgeting, resourcing, and safety checks.
Deliver fully prepared technical fiches/plans and documents ready for execution.
Analyze recurring issues and propose technical improvements with the reliability team.
Provide technical advice to procurement and support negotiations with subcontractors.
Conduct on-site visits to ships for assessments and preparation.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth operations.
Stay informed about the latest technical innovations.
