Puratos Belgium is seeking an Expert Test Baker to drive baking trials, generate reliable data, and translate observations into actionable recommendations for R&D and business stakeholders.

You will plan tests, manage reports, and collaborate with Application Specialists to develop and optimize baking protocols across locations. Fluency in English is required; a baker's degree or equivalent bakery experience is essential for this role.

• Strong hands-on bakery expertise with knowledge of baking technologies, ingredient functionality and texture measurements.
• Able to work autonomously, manage priorities and adapt quickly to changing plans and urgent requests.

Are you passionate about baking and eager to turn precise trials into meaningful insights?

As Expert Test Baker, you contribute to the growth of our industrial and artisan bakery business worldwide. You execute accurate and consistent baking trials, generate reliable data, and translate your observations into clear conclusions and recommendations that support product development and innovation.

What will you do:

• Plan and manage baking tests autonomously, ensuring accurate execution and timely delivery and create high quality baking reports within the given deadlines.
• Generate reliable data and translate test results into valuable insights and recommendations for R&D teams and business stakeholders.
• Develop and share technical expertise in baking technologies, ingredients, and evaluation methods.
• Contribute to innovation initiatives, internal seminars, and the continuous improvement of baking protocols and tools. Together with Application Specialists and Technical Advisors, help develop new baking protocols and optimize existing procedures.

Who are we looking for?

• Baker's degree, Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Science or a related field, or equivalent bakery experience (minimum 8 years).
• Strong hands-on bakery expertise with in-depth knowledge of baking technologies, ingredient functionality and texture measurements.
• Able to work autonomously, manage priorities and adapt quickly to changing plans and urgent requests.
• Accurate and analytical, with experience evaluating and documenting dough and product characteristics.
• Critical thinker with strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical findings into clear recommendations.
• Digitally savvy and comfortable working with modern reporting and data management tools.
• Team player with a proactive mindset and the ability to collaborate across functions and locations.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset.
