Rhox is seeking a medior Test Automation Engineer in Belgium to join its ICT unit. You will design and execute UI and API tests for Angular and Java Spring Boot services, translating acceptance criteria into automated coverage and delivering clear test evidence for releases.

A Belgian professional federation supports more than a thousand member offices and several thousand employees in the legal profession with legal, management, IT and training services. Its ICT unit develops software for legal-profession offices in Belgium, covering real-estate, enterprise and family-law processes, and this Test Automation Engineer role focuses on Playwright UI testing and API test automation across that portfolio.

The mission

The software supports digital processes used by legal professionals and their clients across several legal domains. The technical landscape includes Angular user interfaces, Java Spring Boot services, web services, REST APIs and proxy services. REST API testing is part of the role, alongside functional, non-functional and end-to-end testing with external partners. Consistent automated coverage helps the operations department assess releases and maintain reliable software across connected services.

As a medior Test Automation Engineer, you will translate acceptance criteria into test coverage, create automated scenarios and provide evidence for delivery decisions. You will work with functional analysts, developers and software engineers, while coordinating testing activities and continuous improvement with the Program Lead Test Manager. Your scope covers both technical and functional quality, from test planning and execution through defect follow-up and reporting.

Your responsibilities

• Convert acceptance criteria into prioritised test coverage and plans, so delivery teams can assess functional and non-functional risks.
• Establish and maintain reusable Playwright and ReadyAPI automation for UI and API test automation across Angular and Java Spring Boot components.
• Execute end-to-end testing with external partners and select tools and scenarios based on the technology and integration under test.
• Analyse failures, follow up defects and issues with delivery teams, and produce clear test reports that support resolution.
• Estimate test effort and coordinate test activities with functional analysts, developers, software engineers and the Program Lead Test Manager.
• Improve test processes, automation assets and quality assurance deliverables throughout project delivery.

Your profile

Essential skills

• Bring at least 3 years of relevant software testing experience and operate independently at medior level.
• Design and execute UI and API tests for Angular, Java Spring Boot, Java services, web services, REST APIs and proxy services.
• Build and maintain test automation using Playwright, ReadyAPI, Groovy and TypeScript, with working knowledge of GITT in the relevant workflow.
• Apply AI prompting in a QA context to support test design, scenario generation, result analysis or test documentation, while validating the output.
• Apply structured testing processes to functional, non-functional and end-to-end testing in Agile environments.
• Investigate test results, communicate defects precisely and contribute to test estimates, test plans and quality improvements.
• Share testing knowledge and best practices clearly with analysts, developers and software engineers.

Languages

• English: fluent, equivalent to CEFR C1 or higher.
• Dutch or French: fluent, equivalent to CEFR C1 or higher.
• The other of Dutch or French: good understanding, equivalent to CEFR B1 or higher.

Education
