EngiFlex is seeking a Test Automation Engineer in Brussels with a hybrid work arrangement (40% on site, 60% remote) and Friday office presence. You will contribute to automated UI/API testing, improve QA practices, and collaborate with analysts, developers, and the delivery team to ensure high-quality releases.

The role requires 3+ years in software testing, strong Playwright experience, and a good command of Dutch/English or French/English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 3 years of software testing experience.
• Hands-on test automation with strong API test automation and Playwright.
• UI/API testing in Angular and Java Spring Boot.
• Familiar with testing Java services, web services, REST APIs and proxy services.
• Solid QA processes and quality assurance practices.
• Experience with ReadyAPI; knowledge of Jira and Xray is a plus.
• Groovy and TypeScript experience is an asset.
• Experience in an Agile environment.
• Fluent in Dutch and English or French and English, with good understanding of the third national language.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and learning mindset.

Tasks and responsibilities

As a Test Automation Engineer, you help ensure that developed software performs as expected from both a technical and a functional perspective. You contribute your testing expertise to the software delivery team and support a high-quality release process across applications and integrations.

You work closely with functional analysts, developers and software engineers, and you contribute to both day-to-day test execution and the ongoing improvement of testing practices.

• Review acceptance criteria and assess testability.
• Set up and maintain test automation tools, including Playwright.
• Create and maintain automated test scripts for UI and API testing.
• Execute automated and manual test scenarios, depending on the technology stack and project needs.
• Perform functional, non-functional and end-to-end testing, including testing with external partners.
• Track defects and issues, and prepare clear test reports.
• Support the team in estimating test effort and preparing test plans for projects.
• Help improve testing processes, QA practices and test deliverables.

Your profile

• You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• You have at least 3 years of relevant experience in software testing.
• You have hands‑on experience in test automation, with strong knowledge of API test automation and solid experience with Playwright.
• You have experience with UI and API testing in environments such as Angular and Java Spring Boot.
• You are familiar with testing Java services, web services, REST APIs and proxy services.
• You have a solid understanding of testing processes and quality assurance practices.
• You are comfortable working with tools such as ReadyAPI; knowledge of Jira and Xray is a plus.
• Experience with Groovy and TypeScript is an asset.
• Knowledge of AI prompting in a QA context and GITT is a plus.
• You have experience working in an Agile environment.
• You are fluent in Dutch and English or in French and English, and you have at least a good understanding of the other national language.
• You are a strong team player who shares knowledge and best practices openly with colleagues.
• You are eager to learn and further develop your testing expertise.
• You are detail-oriented and have strong analytical and communication skills.

Work location

You work in Brussels with a hybrid arrangement: 40% on site and 60% homeworking. Presence in the office on Friday is required.
