Jobgether in Belgium is seeking a Technical Leader focused on backend to shape architecture and engineering roadmap while staying hands-on. You will lead a talented team of engineers and partner with Product, Frontend, DevOps to deliver scalable APIs and distributed systems.

You will drive backend strategy, emphasize security, reliability, and observability, and leverage AI-assisted development to boost velocity.

Qualifications

• 6+ years backend development experience, including 4+ years in leadership.
• Strong TypeScript & Node.js skills with NestJS/Express.js.
• Experience designing scalable APIs and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.
• AWS and containerization with CI/CD.
• Event-driven architectures; Kafka a plus.
• Mentoring engineers and setting engineering direction.
• Collaborating with Product and Frontend teams.

Responsabilités

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of engineers with strong coding standards and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Product, Frontend, DevOps to deliver scalable backend solutions aligned with business goals.
• Architect, develop, and maintain high-performing backend services and APIs.
• Design systems for availability, performance, security, and zero-downtime deployment.
• Own backend technical direction and roadmap, balancing delivery with maintainability.
• Improve reliability via testing, monitoring, observability, and incident management.
• Leverage AI tools to improve developer productivity and product quality.
• Translate business needs into robust backend architectures and align with stakeholders.
