You will mentor the data engineering scrum team, ensure code quality with reviews and tests, and collaborate with solution architects to deliver scalable, secure data solutions while keeping documentation up to date.

Job Description :

You will join our team of experts in data.

Your responsibilities will include:

Technical Leadership :

• Leading the technical design and development of data architectures and pipelines.
• Overseeing the technical aspects of data engineering projects, ensuring best practices and standards are followed.
• Conducting and overseeing code reviews to maintain high code quality and adherence to standards.
• Ensuring comprehensive test coverage for all codebases to guarantee robust and error-free deployments.

Code Quality and Maintenance :

• Ensuring libraries and dependencies are kept up-to-date and free from vulnerabilities.
• Responsible for ensuring the stability of the production code, facilitating smooth and rapid deployment of bug fixes.
• Responsible for implementing and enforcing best practices for coding, testing, and deployment, with the entire team involved in ensuring adherence.
• Responsible for ensuring that the necessary and comprehensive documentation is written and maintained by the team for all codebases and data engineering processes.

Collaboration and Solution Design :

• Working closely with solution architects during the solution design phase to ensure feasibility and scalability.
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to the data engineering scrum team.
• Facilitating communication between data engineers and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment on technical solutions and project goals.

Coaching and Mentoring :

• Serving as a coach and mentor to other data engineers, promoting their professional growth and technical skills development.
• Providing regular feedback, guidance, and support to team members to help them achieve their career goals.
• Encouraging a collaborative and inclusive team environment where knowledge sharing is prioritized.

Agile Management and Delivery :

• Ensuring that the work is broken down into manageable stories and tasks, providing clear and actionable work plans
• Having a clear understanding of all tasks and features to define an MVP and to develop a roadmap for future versions in collaboration with the PO
• Providing accurate and reliable estimates for story completion in collaboration with the team.
• Ensuring timely and successful delivery (in collaboration with the Scrum Master and Product Owner) of data engineering projects and features.
• Identifying and mitigating technical risks associated with data engineering projects and processes.

Continuous Improvement :

• Staying current with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies in data engineering.
• Fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and quality.

Operational Excellence :

• Ensuring the effective monitoring and management of the performance, reliability, and scalability of data solutions in production
• Overseeing the implementation of monitoring and alerting systems to proactively address potential issues, in collaboration with the platform team and utilizing platform capabilities.
• Ensuring data solutions comply with relevant security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
