Your Role
As a Technical Engineer, you support Operations Support by ensuring thorough preparation before projects begin, delivering a complete and workable plan to the on-site team for efficient, safe, and cost‑effective execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop execution plans based on input from tender engineers, focusing on technical feasibility, safety and efficiency.
- Consult with contractors, suppliers and engineering firms to align on technical requirements.
- Work closely with the team to produce in‑depth technical advice crucial to project success (e.g. lifting plans, technical drawings).
- Analyse and optimise mobilisation and logistics processes, contributing to their standardisation within the organisation.
- Translate operational needs into technical specifications and draw up detailed equipment lists, including technical requirements.
- Guide technical preparation of the mobilisation phase, monitor technical quality of execution and support onsite start‑up.
- Identify technical issues early and collaborate with internal experts and external partners to develop targeted solutions.
- Document technical knowledge, lessons learned and improvement areas, ensuring feedback is shared with the JDN knowledge system and relevant departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial sciences, engineering or equivalent.
- At least two years of technical experience on dredging projects.
- Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written (additional languages are a plus).
- A solution‑seeker mindset.
- Strong planning and organisational skills to maintain clear oversight of ongoing projects and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for building new connections and collaborating across departments.
- Willingness to travel abroad to project sites for hand‑over and start‑up of operations.
