Overview

Jan De Nul Group is synonymous with dredging and land reclamation projects – worldwide and at the highest level. As an engineer at Jan De Nul, you help ensure our dredging projects run smoothly. Fluency in Dutch is a prerequisite.

Your Role

The Operations Support department stands for thorough preparation before a dredging project begins. Their goal is to provide the on-site project team with a complete and workable plan – the key to efficient, safe, and cost-effective execution. Your responsibilities include:

  • You develop execution plans based on input from tender engineers, coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and engineering firms where necessary.
  • You coordinate with various internal departments to achieve a clear plan and a well-defined division of roles.
  • You work closely with the Construction (Works) Manager Dredging Operations Support on the assigned project.
  • You oversee communication between all parties and ensure the chosen approach is safe, effective, and cost-efficient.
  • You prepare detailed operational requirements and the corresponding equipment list in preparation for mobilisation; you organise this process, monitor its proper execution, and actively support the start-up of mobilisation.
  • You respond quickly to problems and collaborate with the appropriate departments to implement solutions.
  • You contribute to the optimisation of processes and methods, and ensure best practices are shared within the team and across the organisation.
What you need to have
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial or civil engineering, or equivalent.
  • At least four years of technical experience on dredging projects.
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written. Additional languages are an asset.
  • Solution-oriented mindset.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills to maintain an overview of ongoing projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills to build connections and collaborate with various departments and colleagues.
  • Willingness to travel abroad for short assignments to support or hand over on-site operations.
