Overview

Engineer Vessel Maintenance within Belgium – Jan De Nul Group. You will travel to projects worldwide and take on the complete technical management of a high-tech vessel, ensuring it remains operational as much as possible. The role is open to new graduates as well.

Your Role

A Job With Opportunities And Responsibilities

At Jan De Nul, you will supervise the operational readiness of a complete vessel, travel to project sites worldwide, and assist electricians or technicians on board. You will organise large-scale maintenance activities with the technical and people skills to lead on-board work. You start with four weeks of training, then travel to a project where we need you most, with the title of Technical Superintendent Vessel Maintenance. This could be anywhere in the world.

Your tasks will include:

  • Coordinate maintenance and repair activities
  • Lead technical staff on and around the vessel
  • Organise cooperation with shipyards and local contractors
  • Take care of the logistic management of stocks of spares
  • Check reports, repair lists and purchase orders
  • Monitor safety, quality and minimal environmental impact
  • Bridge communication between vessel and head office
