Dataroots, a Talan company, invites an AI Engineering Team Lead to drive hands-on AI consulting and lead a team of AI engineers. You will design, build and deploy AI solutions delivering real business value for clients while coaching growth and wellbeing within the group.

You will shape the AI Engineering practice, contribute to hiring and business development, and stay closely involved in projects to keep delivery grounded in real-world impact.

Qualifications

• A deep passion for Artificial Intelligence and its applications.
• 5+ years of experience delivering AI solutions in consulting or client-facing environments.
• Strong software engineering skills with Python and SQL.
• Experience building production-ready machine learning and Generative AI systems.
• Solid understanding of GenAI, retrieval systems, Agentic AI, MLOps and LLMOps.
• Experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Strong communication skills and a pragmatic, business-oriented mindset.
• Fluency in English and Dutch.

As an AI Engineering Team Lead, you remain first and foremost an AI engineering consultant. Most of your time is spent designing, building and deploying AI solutions that deliver real business value for our clients. From classical machine learning to modern GenAI and Agentic AI applications, you help bring AI systems into production using robust software engineering, MLOps and LLMOps practices.

Alongside your client work, you lead a team of AI engineers. You coach colleagues, support their growth and wellbeing, contribute to hiring and business development, and help shape the direction of our AI Engineering practice. Because you remain hands‑on yourself, your leadership is grounded in real project experience.

What we're looking for
