Van de Velde in Belgium is seeking a seasoned Supply Chain Controller to link financial data with operations across production and distribution. You will partner with COOs and cost centers to steer COGS, budgets, and performance metrics, ensuring accurate analysis and strong financial controls.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in economics/finance and at least five years in plant controlling within an international setting. English fluency is required; Dutch is a strong advantage.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of Plant Controlling experience in an international environment.
  • Experience in fashion/retail is a plus.

Responsabilités

  • Analyze costs related to plant operations and supply chain; prepare budgets, forecasts, and KPIs with key stakeholders.
  • Perform monthly closings for plant operations; manage accruals, cost allocations, and variance analyses.
  • Support capital investments; prepare financial analyses and business cases.
  • Monitor inventory levels and variances; translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Drive continuous improvement of plant controlling processes and financial controls.
  • Report to the Group Controller.

Your Function

As a Supply Chain Controller, you bridge the gap between financial data and business operations. Acting as a trusted business partner, you support the Production, Supply Chain, and other cost center teams related to Cost of Goods Sold (COGS). Through your financial insights and analyses, you help drive informed decision-making and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze all costs related to plant operations and the supply chain. Prepare budgets, forecasts, and KPIs in close collaboration with key stakeholders, including the COO, the Distribution Center Manager, and their teams. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support sound business decisions.
  • Perform monthly closing activities related to plant operations, including accruals, cost allocations and variance analyses. Monitor key manufacturing cost drivers and variances, including inventory movements and valuation, labor efficiency and overhead absorption, and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Support capital investment decisions by preparing financial analyses and business cases. Monitor inventory levels, identify discrepancies, and perform inventory reconciliations and variance analyses.
  • Deliver actionable insights that enhance financial performance and promote a strong KPI-driven culture across the business.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of plant controlling processes by critically evaluating existing ways of working and implementing more efficient and effective financial controls and reporting practices.
  • Report directly to the Group Controller.

Your Profile

  • You hold a Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, and have at least five years of experience in Plant Controlling within an international environment.
  • Experience in the fashion or retail industry is considered an asset.
  • You are an independent and proactive business partner who communicates openly, transparently, and effectively with stakeholders at all levels. You are able to translate complex financial information into clear business insights.
  • Your strong business acumen enables you to turn data into actionable recommendations and business challenges into practical, value-adding solutions.
  • You combine a critical mindset with an entrepreneurial attitude and excellent analytical skills, allowing you to drive continuous process improvements and support change initiatives.
  • You have a keen eye for detail while maintaining a helicopter view and keeping the broader business objectives in mind.
  • You are fluent in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Dutch is a strong advantage.
