The role covers knowledge transfer, training, shadowing, go-live and audit readiness within FINREP, COREP, Scheme A and related controls, ensuring accurate documentation and secure change management across finance functions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in accounts reporting, control or consolidation, ideally in banking.
• Practical knowledge of bank accounting, reporting and finance processes including consolidation and internal controls.
• Familiarity with FINREP, COREP and Scheme A regulatory concepts.

A Belgian banking organisation is transferring selected Finance activities from internal teams to an external supplier, mainly across financial accounting and reporting. The Subject Matter Expert Finance will document existing processes, support the customer-to-supplier hand-over process, and translate bank accounting, bank reporting and regulatory requirements into clear operating guidance. The work supports a finance function in Brussels, Belgium and uses specialist tools including OFS, Perseus, Concorde and Ambre.

The mission

The programme covers process and organisational documentation, knowledge transfer and operational readiness for financial accounting and reporting activities. The hand-over includes training, shadowing, reverse shadowing, go-live and aftercare, with regulatory alignment and audit readiness built into the deliverables. The environment includes bank accounting and regulatory reporting through FINREP, COREP and Scheme A, alongside accounting, consolidation, management control and internal financial control. This work maintains reporting quality and control evidence as responsibilities move between organisations.

Your responsibilities

• Create detailed process, procedure and organisation documentation that enables consistent knowledge transfer and operational ownership.
• Coordinate the full customer-to-supplier hand-over, from training and shadowing through reverse shadowing, go-live and aftercare.
• Translate complex Finance, risk and regulatory requirements into functional specifications, control guidance and audit-ready evidence.
• Prepare workstream plans, status reporting, governance committee materials, meeting outputs and decision logs for programme management.
• Track risks, dependencies, actions and stakeholder decisions so management can address issues and maintain delivery control.
• Facilitate communication across Finance, operational teams and the supplier, supporting change with a structured and diplomatic approach.

Your profile

Essential skills

• Bring at least 6 years of experience in accounts reporting, control or consolidation processes or products, ideally in a banking environment.
• Apply practical knowledge of bank accounting, bank reporting and Finance processes covering accounting, consolidation, management control, control and internal audit.
• Use FINREP, COREP, Scheme A and related regulatory reporting concepts to assess requirements and documentation impacts.
• Work confidently with MS Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and with OFS, Perseus, Concorde and Ambre.
• Structure complex information, apply strong conceptual and analytical skills, and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
• Work independently, protect confidential information and drive change across a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.

Preferred skills

• Recognise internal financial control and audit principles in process documentation and hand-over activities.
• Bring knowledge of finance regulatory reporting, workflow processes or audit delivery.
• Hold certification in IFRS and/or Bgaap.

Languages

• Dutch: B2, good working proficiency.
• French: C1, fluent.
• English: C1, fluent spoken and written, and the working language.

Education

Master's degree in economics or an equivalent qualification.
