Job summary

Sonaca seeks a senior stress team leader to manage all stress activities across a multidisciplinary project from preliminary design to certification. You will supervise stress engineers, review FEM models, analyses and reports, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while representing Sonaca to OEMs and partners.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s in mechanical/aerospace engineering with 8+ years in aircraft structural analysis and at least 2 years in team leadership.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering (or equivalent).
• 8+ years of experience in structural analysis of aircraft structures.
• 2+ years of experience as team leader.

Responsibilities

• Lead stress activities within a multidisciplinary project team from design to certification.
• Supervise and verify work of stress engineers (FEM models, analyses, reports).
• Represent Sonaca on all stress aspects towards OEMs, suppliers and partners.
• Accountable for team performance: on-time and on-budget delivery.

Job description

As leader of a stress team, you will be in charge of the management of all stress activities within a multidisciplinary project team, from preliminary design up to certification. You will supervise and check all activities delegated to stress engineers (e.g. the creation and/or update of the Finite Element Models, the structural analyses, the redaction of all stress reports…), and represent Sonaca for all stress aspects towards the OEM, the suppliers and/or the partners involved on the project. You will also be accountable for the performance of your team (on-time and on-budget delivery).

Your Profile :

• Master’s degree in mechanical / aerospace engineering (or equivalent)
• Minimum 8 years of experience in structural analysis of aircraft structures
• Minimum 2 years of experience as team leader

Technical Skills:

• Deep knowledge and understanding of structural analysis methodologies (FEM and hand calculations)
• Deep knowledge of Finite Element Modelling
• Good knowledge in Fatigue & Damage Tolerance analyses

Tools:

• Knowledge in one or more of these would be an asset : SAMCEF, NASTRAN, CATIA V5, Simcenter NX, TeamCenter, Linux.

Language:

Good level in English is mandatory (spoken & written). Speaking other European languages would be a plus.
