Cobble - Van de Wiele Limited in Kortrijk is seeking a Strategic Buyer to manage international supplier contracts and drive cost-effective procurement in a high-tech textile environment. After initial training, you will negotiate frameworks, convert proposals, and ensure on-time deliveries while maintaining confidentiality.

You hold a Bachelor or Master in Industrial Sciences or equivalent, speak Dutch and English fluently, and are comfortable visiting suppliers worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master’s degree in Industrial Sciences Electromechanics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics or equivalent.
• Purchasing experience within a technical environment is a must.
• Proficient with ERP systems and MS Office.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; knowledge of French/German is a plus.
• Number-oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Stress-resistant and able to set priorities while keeping a clear overview.
• Discretion is essential as you will regularly handle confidential information.
• Prepared to regularly visit suppliers and/or trade fairs abroad.

Responsabilités

• Regularly evaluate supplier base and look for new opportunities; evaluate and select new suppliers in an international context.
• Carry out market research to advise internal customers.
• Proactively identify cost-reducing opportunities across the supply chain.
• Communicate with internal clients (R&D, assembly) to align with technical expectations.
• Handle customer questions from quality deviations to invoice problems.
• Report to the Purchasing Manager.

Your role

After a guided training on our system and products, you will be given the following responsibilities:

• You initiate, negotiate and conclude (framework) contracts with preferred suppliers.
• You interpret order proposals from the ERP system and convert them into orders.
• You consult with suppliers and internal customers to provide the best service at the best negotiated cost.
• You follow up open orders and deliveries in order to deliver to customers on time.
• You regularly evaluate our supplier base and look for new opportunities. You evaluate and select new suppliers in an international context.
• You carry out market research to advise your internal customers.
• You proactively identify cost-reducing opportunities throughout the supply chain process.
• You communicate with various internal clients, such as R&D and assembly, to align with technical expectations.
• You handle customer questions ranging from quality deviations to invoice problems.
• You report to the Purchasing Manager.

Your profile

• You hold a Bachelor/Master’s degree in Industrial Sciences Electromechanics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics or are equivalent through experience.
• Purchasing experience within a technical environment is a must.
• You are proficient with ERP systems and MS Office.
• You maintain an overview of the entire procurement process and proactively seek improvements.
• You are fluent in Dutch and English; knowledge of French/German is a plus.
• You are number-oriented with strong analytical skills.
• You are stress-resistant and able to set priorities while keeping a clear overview.
• Discretion is essential as you will regularly handle confidential information.
• You are prepared to regularly visit suppliers and/or trade fairs abroad.
