SquareDev is seeking an experienced Storage & Backup/Cloud Consultant to manage and optimize enterprise storage solutions for public sector clients in Brussels. You will ensure the security and efficiency of the backup environments, troubleshooting issues and maintaining high service continuity.

This role demands a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field along with at least 6 years of relevant experience, particularly with NetApp and VMware technologies. Strong analytical skills and an organizational mindset are essential for success.

• Proven skills in VMware vSphere cluster management.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Storage & Backup/Cloud Consultant to join one of our EU public sector clients based in Brussels. You'll own the full lifecycle of maintaining, optimising and securing our enterprise storage and backup environments.

Requirements

• Administration of ICT system components related to hosting services
• Installation, configuration and upgrade of ICT systems
• Daily administration of systems to ensure service continuity, security, recovery, and performance needs are met
• Investigation, diagnosis, and resolution of system related issues
• Installation, upgrades and testing of infrastructure software, including monitoring solutions
• Planning and scheduling of installations to minimize disruptions
• Analysis of storage environment and formulation of recommendations for optimisation and improvement
• Compliance with organisational procedures to ensure integrity and security of the system
• Install, maintain and support the organisation's data center hardware infrastructure (servers, enclosures, UPS, patch panels, tape library, cabling, etc.)
• Upgrade and configure NetApp systems including MetroCluster
• Managing EMC VMAX/PMAX, HDS, HP, and IBM storage systems
• Managing Pure Storage
• Building VMware vSphere clusters
• Managing backup infrastructure with NetBackup and Veritas Pure Disk Appliance

To excel in this role, you'll need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 6 years in a similar infrastructure/storage role
• Hands‑on experience with NetApp (including MetroCluster), EMC VMAX/PMAX, HDS, HP, IBM and Pure Storage
• Proven skills in VMware vSphere cluster management
• Working knowledge of Veritas NetBackup and Pure Disk Appliance
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Good planning and organisational skills to minimise service disruption
