Notarial Belgium Organization is seeking a Senior System Engineer – Virtualization to manage and optimize enterprise virtualization, storage, and backup infrastructure. The role emphasizes Nutanix AHV, VMware, and high availability across the environments.

You will lead design, implementation, and continuous improvement of virtualization platforms, with a focus on backup, storage, and disaster recovery readiness. Strong English required; Dutch or French at least passively would be beneficial.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of virtualization engineering experience.
• At least 2 years in a senior role with technical ownership.
• Expertise in Nutanix AHV and/or VMware vSphere.
• Strong backup and data protection knowledge.
• Advanced knowledge of Backup & Storage, Hyperconverged Infrastructure, and Virtualization.

For a leading organization in the Belgian notarial sector, we are looking for an experienced Senior System Engineer – Virtualization to manage and optimize critical virtualization, storage, and backup infrastructure.

You will be responsible for the daily management, support, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise infrastructure, with a strong focus on Nutanix AHV, VMware, backup, storage, and high availability.

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for virtualization and backup platforms
• Design, manage, and maintain Nutanix AHV and VMware environments
• Implement and maintain high-availability and clustering solutions
• Design and operate enterprise backup solutions for virtual servers
• Define and manage backup SLAs, RPOs, and RTOs
• Configure backup policies, retention, restore, and reporting
• Manage archiving and long-term retention of virtual workloads
• Automate virtual server provisioning and operational tasks
• Monitor and optimize performance, capacity, and storage usage
• Contribute to Disaster Recovery Plans and participate in DR testing
• Investigate incidents and ensure clear communication with stakeholders in case of SLA breaches
• Document operational procedures and share knowledge with colleagues

Must-Haves

• 7+ years of experience as a Virtualization System Engineer
• At least 2 years in a senior position with technical ownership
• Strong expertise in Nutanix AHV and/or VMware vSphere
• Strong knowledge of backup and data protection solutions
• Advanced knowledge of Backup & Storage, Hyperconverged Infrastructure, and Virtualization
• Good knowledge of SAN and storage technologies
• Solid understanding of Windows Server in virtualized environments
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and SMTP
• Experience with enterprise monitoring and reporting tools
• Strong automation and scripting skills
• Professional working proficiency in English
• Fluent Dutch or French, with at least passive knowledge of the other national language

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with Disaster Recovery and business continuity
• Experience defining and testing RPO/RTO scenarios
• Experience with infrastructure automation and virtual server deployment
• Knowledge of enterprise server hardware
