Job summary

Astrum Talent is recruiting for a permanent Mechanical Engineer to join a fast-growing space sector client in Belgium. You will develop mechanical concepts for space applications and perform structural/thermal analyses.

You will define and execute qualification testing, support manufacturing and delivery, and prepare ECSS-compliant documentation. Strong CAD skills (CATIA/SolidWorks/NX) and bearing design experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a space based company
• Knowledge of ECSS/ESA standards
• Competent on CAD and structural/thermal engineering tools (CATIA, SolidWorks, Siemens NX)
• Ideally some experience in bearing system design

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical concepts and detailed designs for space applications.
• Perform structural, thermal and mechanical analyses.
• Define, prepare and execute qualification and acceptance testing.
• Support manufacturing, assembly, integration and delivery activities.
• Prepare design, analysis and test documentation in accordance with ECSS.
• Present and defend technical solutions during internal and customer reviews.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering methods, tools and processes
