Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Solutions Architect to join the Benelux Public Sector team in Brussels. You will own the technical engagement with public sector customers across Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, shaping cloud architectures to meet security, cost, and performance goals.

You will develop AWS reference architectures, lead workshops, and collaborate with customers to drive cloud adoption, ensuring solutions align with AWS best practices and roadmap priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience in cloud computing and enterprise architecture.
• Proven ability to lead technical discussions with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong communication and presentation skills in English; Dutch is a plus.

AWS is looking for a Solutions Architect to join our thriving technical community and growing business as part of our Benelux Public Sector team based in Brussels, Belgium. You will join a friendly and supportive team, serving the unique needs of our Public Sector customers in Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg.

As an AWS Solutions Architect, you will have ownership of the technical relationship with customers, making recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability, operational efficiency and best-practice architectures. Internally, you will be an advocate acting on behalf of the customer to help drive continual improvements to the AWS platform, sharing their needs and wants to inform the roadmap of AWS features and services.

In this role, your creativity will link technology to tangible solutions, with the opportunity to implement or document cloud-native reference architectures with the AWS Solutions Architect community.

You will participate in the creation and sharing of recommended practices, technical content and new reference architectures (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts) and evangelise and educate about AWS technology (e.g. through workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences).

Key job responsibilities

• Own the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific business initiatives and projects. You should (learn to) understand the wider industry, with experience and skill in how applications and services are delivered and consumed.
• Develop a deep expertise in AWS technologies.
• Consult on and provide leadership for the broad AWS cloud strategy in public sector organisations.
• You will help customers articulate and navigate their cloud journey, and be accountable for ensuring tactical activities and point projects are align with the overall technical strategy.
• Exhibit leadership within a very sophisticated IT landscape and become the trusted advisor to different stakeholders in the customer’s organisation’s hierarchy. Enable others to become cloud champions!
• Be a thought leader, comfortable with speaking in public. Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS architecture community, including authoring or otherwise contributing to AWS customer-facing assets such as whitepapers, blogs, code, and sample architectures.
• Act as a technical liaison between customers, engineering teams and support.
• Demonstrate the "art of the possible" using demonstrations and proof-of-concept code.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
• In-depth knowledge of cloud computing, data engineering and enterprise architecture principles.
• Strong background in delivering complex, mission-critical technology solutions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Dutch native or +5yrs fluent professional C2 level speaking experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
• Experience working with AWS technologies
• Experience architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider like Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
