mateco IT in Waregem seeks a passionate fullstack software engineer to design, build, test and deploy high quality software, collaborating with product, UX, QA and fellow engineers.

You will participate in agile ceremonies, own CI/CD pipelines, and work across the stack, with flexible hours and the chance to work from home two days a week in a modern IT environment.

Qualifications

• Several years’ experience as a software engineer.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Angular and Kafka.
• Strong foundation in software design, architecture, testing and deployment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills: you’ll be working across many stakeholders.
• Deep familiarity with agile methodologies and frameworks.

• Design, build, test, and deploy high quality software solutions that align with the product vision and business objectives.
• Work closely with product, UX, QA, and fellow engineers to deliver product increments and create positive customer outcomes.
• Participate actively in agile events, such as sprint planning, dailysStand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives, bringing a mindset of continuous improvement.
• Embed quality throughout development, applying best practices and ensuring code is maintainable, secure, and well tested.
• Own and manage CI/CD pipelines and production deployments. You’ll take the lead on reliable and efficient delivery.
• Think across the stack (frontend, backend, infrastructure), and understand how your work impacts other teams and components.

Must haves

Several years’ experience as a software engineer.

Strong knowledge of Java, Angular and Kafka.

Strong foundation in software design, architecture, testing and deployment.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills: you’ll be working across many stakeholders.

Deep familiarity with agile methodologies and frameworks.

Nice to haves

Knowledge of Google Cloud is very welcome, otherwise there must be willingness to learn on short term.

T-shaped (or evolving toward E-shaped) skill set: deep in one area, broad across others.

Experience managing CI/CD pipelines and exposure to DevOps practices.

Understanding of solution architecture, cross-team dependencies, and scaling systems.
