Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee and coordinate day-to-day construction activities on major projects in Belgium.
The Site Manager is responsible for ensuring that works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project programme, quality standards, contractual requirements, and company procedures. The role involves managing site operations, coordinating subcontractors, monitoring progress, enforcing health and safety standards, and supporting the successful delivery of the project through to completion and handover.
The Site Manager works closely with the Project Director, Construction Director, package managers, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure effective site coordination and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate daily site activities to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the project programme.
- Supervise subcontractors and site personnel to ensure compliance with project requirements and company standards.
- Monitor construction progress and provide regular updates to the Project Director and Construction Director.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements, company procedures, and statutory regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Coordinate and manage site logistics, access arrangements, work areas, and site housekeeping.
- Review and monitor construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure works are executed correctly.
- Identify construction issues, risks, and constraints, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Monitor workmanship and quality standards, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality procedures.
- Support the management of change control processes and report deviations, delays, or risks to the project team.
- Coordinate interfaces between subcontractors and other project disciplines to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Assist in the preparation of progress reports, site documentation, and project records.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to enhance site productivity and performance.
- Support commissioning, project close-out activities, snagging, and final handover processes.
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in a Site Manager, Construction Supervisor, or similar role within large-scale construction projects.
- Data Centre, Mission Critical, Industrial, Pharmaceutical, Advanced Manufacturing or Logistics project experience is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, site logistics, health and safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work fronts in a fast-paced site environment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, construction documentation, and project requirements.
- Valid First Aid certification and relevant site management or health and safety qualifications are advantageous.
